At CES 2019, the company is also showcasing the latest capabilities of Techniplas Prime, the world’s first and only one-stop shop for localized automotive design-to-manufacturing services at scale. The Techniplas concept vehicle demonstrates several advanced capabilities, including a trailing suspension arm boasting a 48 percent weight reduction, several tire rim designs and a seat back exhibiting how generative design and additive manufacturing reduce assembly time and part count, material usage, and overall cost without causing performance degradation. The vehicle also boasts a first of its kind programmable cognitively-lit sunroof, designed to demonstrate how car surfaces are transitioning from core functionality to expanded human-to-machine interfaces.
The Techniplas exhibit also features an all new, next generation Air Water Separator prototype, which helps electric cars heat more efficiently in the winter, and combustion engines cool more effectively in the summer, making all vehicles more fuel efficient at up to 35 additional miles. The exhibit also features new Techniplas Active Grille Shutters with Mechatronic Technology, which optimize airflow around internal combustion engines, improve thermal efficiency of the engine, and reduce fuel consumption and engine noise.
